How to correctly classify and test air filters has long been a problem that practitioners in the air-conditioning field have attached great importance to. Due to the different testing and classification methods of national standards, it is more difficult for the global sales of products. And the generation of new filtration technology and materials, the old test methods and grading standards are not easy to objectively evaluate the performance of the filter. The ISO16890 "Filters for General Ventilation" recently proposed by the ISO organization proposes testing and grading specifications to make up for each country's testing methods, hoping to effectively reduce the current difficulties encountered by the air filter industry in the future.
